'Just for You Midge' - Rogue Redhead Designs

Hi, hope you are enjoying Sunday.  Thought I would use 'Midge' from the new 'This and That' half plate for a change instead of using those two fab birds...............from Rogue Redhead Designs.

This time I stamped her on Distress Inks and layered her up on hearts which have been outlined in gold paint. The background is made from the acrylic squishings technique.  Other products used are Bead Gel and Stickles.  The 'Just for You' is on this half plate as well.

This is a sneak peak of another project showing on the same post, yep have used Shrink Plastic even though I detest the stuff.............lol

Hope to see you again next Sunday with another Guest Rogue project and would like to know whether I should show 'Midge' again or 'Birds'.  Please write in the comments section over at the Rogue Redheads Blog as I just cannot make up my mind.................am such a ditherer.

Thank you for visiting me today.  Take care of yourselves, hugs Annette x

Awakening Spring ....

Hi, just popped in to show you a piece I worked on using Paper Transfer Technique

Its my first attempt at Paper Transfer so its not brilliant, but kind of like it.  Other products used:  Modelling Paste used on a Stamp, Acrylic Paints and Crackle Glaze.  After it was complete I digitalised it - not sure if thats a proper word or not...........into a notebook and added the small sunflowers.

Awakening Spring, how many leaves!
Rustling dawn: how many branches!
Does she know the pangs of love?
Never a time she wouldn't dance.
(Li Shang-Yin)

Thank you for popping in and hope you had a good day.  See you soon, hugs Annette xx

Just realised I was entering this piece into the Unruly Paper Arts challenge of Faux Flowers and forgot to send it in.......how dumb can you get.........lol

Attempt at Shabby Chic..............

Hi, it has not been the best of days for me, nope..........decided to wash the paintwork on all the doors and by mistake I picked up the spray kitchen cleaner which contains strong bleach and squirted my first door........result horrendous streaks........this will teach me to wear my specs........so tomorrow have got to bleach the whole door so it all matches........am not a happy bunny..........

Yesterday I altered this thick wooden Heart which was bought from Wilkinsons in their sale for 25 pence......great bargain and wanted to try the Shabby Chic style with it, not my usual style at all.

First the heart was painted with Gesso then layered some lace and another coat of Gesso.  The flowers were created from Watercolour paper, you guessed it......Gesso applied, Distress Inks and then coated with Viva Croco Crackling White.  Little roses added to the centres.  The words are stamps used from the 'Floriculture Plate' by Rogue Redhead Designs.

Oh blow it, forgot to put the pearls on.  Told you it wasn't my day.............. am entering this into the Unruly Paper Arts Challenge of Faux Flowers.

Think I had better have a lie down in the hope that things will get better.............lol    Thank you for visiting me and take care of yourselves.  Hugs Annette x

Happy Ever After - Rogue Redhead....

Hi, hope you are enjoying the weekend.  Am back again to show you those beautiful birds from the new This N That half plate from Rogue Redhead Designs.  This time have incorporated them into my artwork and made a card.

The painting shown was cut up into sections and this is one of the pieces.  Painted on canvas in acrylics then mounted on black card.  The birds were coloured with Whisper pens, the camera has bleached out a lot of the shadings on the birds, presumably because of the dark colourful background........

I would appreciate it greatly if you would share your thoughts about this make, over at Rogue Redhead Designs as am feeling like Billy No mates over there...........aaaaahhhh.

Would also like to enter this canvas card into the Fashionable Stamping Challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you again for all your terrific support and have a lovely week, take care of yourselves, hugs Annette x

Let Me Share Your Day

Hi, as you can see am back from Stratford on Avon, the weather was a mixed bag of icy cold to boiling hot. We spent our time mooching about sightseeing, having a river trip, visiting Shakespeare's grave etc and lots of good food to add to my growing waist.............ouch.

I photographed this at an angle which makes it look a bit skew whiff, sorry about that.

The background is made up of Acrylic Squishings and Alcohol Ink Blowing.  Stamps are by Papermania and Joanna Sheen.  Cannot make up my mind if this is a man or a woman...........  Also haven't made up my mind if its going to be a journal cover or a hanging..........am so full of indecisions  at the moment.......... thought the following quote very appropriate..............lol
Once I make up my mind, I'm full of indecision.     Oscar Levant
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine today and looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend.  Thank you for popping in, take care of yourselves, hugs Annette x

Happy Easter

Hi, at last the snow is melting.  We couldn't get the car out yesterday, completely snowed in, but at last its thawing..........so we popped out for some food supplies as the cupboard was bare............aaaaahhhh, our car joined the rest of the snowmobiles on the road.......

This year have been very good and made 4 Easter cards, I usually only make 2, so this doubles my output....  A blogging friend of mine said she had made over 80 Easter cards, I replied Hells Bells, bury me now......

Stamp - Designs by Ryn

Stamps - Crafty Individuals

A fun one for the kiddywinkles - so loving that frog
As you can see they are all clean and simply made and didn't hardly take any time at all as have a lot of paintings on the go at the moment.  Have managed to finish one large canvas of the flower 'Morning Glory' which is a birthday present for one of my family.  Will show you 'Morning Glory', this Thursday, on my Art Blog.

Thank you for popping in and hope everyone is keeping warm as its freezing cold at the moment.  Take care of yourselves and will be seeing you shortly.  Hugs Annette xx

Experimenting with Alcohol Ink Painting

Hi, today am showing you some experiments involving alcohol ink painting.  Have just temporarily slotted these into cards to see how they looked before I decide what else to put on them.  Not sure whether to stamp on a couple of them or emboss the cards...........please tell me what you think !

Alcohol Ink Painting, requires just the inks, blending solution and a stick..........so no paintbrush required.  How good is that...........lol

Have just heard that the Blogging Reader List will be stopped in July this year, which is a total pain when we rely on this to see what our fellow bloggers have created.  So hopefully everyone will have an email following button which will enable us to keep up.  I have to admit I rely on Facebook a lot to keep up with various blogs.  Does anyone have any better ideas as would love to know.

Take care of yourselves and have a goodly week, hugs Annette x

Gossipy George

Hi, after seeing on Facebook that the Unruly Paper Art Group are having a challenge this month and asking for Facebookers to show us an ATC used in Altered Art, thought I would have a go......

Let me introduce you to George the very gossipy cat and his poor Mistress, Hilda.  He is always telling her the latest gossip about the Soaps on TV and any other titbit of news.  George told her what was going to happen in Coronation Street this week and Hilda was not best pleased as she doesn't like to hear the storylines in advance, just look at the expression on her face............lol

The ATC is mounted on a used shaped Canvas Sheet which had been Gessoed, painted in Acrylic and edged with Pewter Liquid Leaf.
The ATC was stamped with the Rogue Redhead - Just Sayin' plate and coloured with watercolours.
Didn't think it was altered enough so then this happened.........

Yep now its been digitally altered into a box...............

The weather here is so very cold at the moment brrr.   Thank you for visiting me and will see you soon. Got to brave the weather today and go  food shopping, will be glad to get back home.  Take care of yourselves, hugs Annette xx
