Woo Hoo its Paint Party Friday

Hi, its Paint Party Friday again, one of my favourite days of the week.  The party is hosted by the lovely Kristin and Eva.  The best bit is I get to see lots of lovely artwork from beginners like myself to professionals, so its a total feast for the eyes.

When I first started Art Classes, last year,  it was my aim to produce something half decent to use on cards, tags etc., because I just cannot afford to buy all of those lovely stamps to play with.  So have taken the plunge and used a glossy copy of one of my portraits on a card which is going to a blogging friend.  Its not quite finished yet as the greeting has to be added.  Just hope she likes it.

This is where I had got to with this particular acrylic painting last week..............and

now I am nearly finished, just a bit of touching up here and there with some highlights to be added. Still not sure about that mauve dress..........so any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hope you have all  been enjoying this wonderful weather we are having in the UK.  Am not sure if I will get much free time to paint this coming week as know its going to be a busy one, with one thing and another. Just hope the hospital doesn't  decide to do my Catscan before we go on holiday at the end of the week, but I guess thats hoping too much..........lol

Thank you for popping in and giving me your wonderful support.  Take care of yourselves and have fun creating.  Hugs Annette x

PS  Just came back to tell you since I posted this I spilt a whole cup of hot coffee over my wireless modem, am hoping it will dry out.......thank goodness I held onto my old modem, it may not be wireless but at least it works............thought I was going to be off line so am very relieved I'm not........xx

I really like how you embellished your card to friend. Inexpensive but very, very creative. As far as your painting goes...Wow! It is a Monet look alike (with your own style as central) I love the nostalgic look and feel of this painting. Bravo!

Always love when artists show the progress shots. If you are unsure of the dress, walk away for a day or so and re-look at it. Sometimes a little 'space' between creates answers. Enjoy the weekend!

The WIP is just fabulous and I agree, it's just about "there". Also, the idea of duplicating your own paintings to use on cards is such a great idea. This card is certainly a gorgeous example. I think you can quit calling yourself a beginning painter. Faye

Hi Nettie :-) Your card is wonderful and your friend will love it, especially because it's from you. Your painting is coming along great. I like the mauve dress, it draws me right into the painting. Maybe a little shadowing to define the figure is all you need to do. I hope you will be allright with respect to your catscan. Hugs xo ~ Rhonda

Hi Annette, I've been off line for a week or so with family visiting so I missed a lot of your creative pieces. Your art is progressing nicely and your friend will love what you have created. I'm so impressed because I can't draw at all. I'd be lost without stamps and the computer to print out images.

Keep up your art lessons; they are definitely working for you and thanks for your visits to my blogs.

Hi Nettie,

Love your painting. The mauve dress is fine. The only suggestion that I would make, and I'm still a novice, is to add some dramatic shadows - from the people and/or fabric folds. I am still working on doing that with my work. One of my watercolor teachers told me that and I'm passing it on.

Thanks again for stopping by and enjoying my "little boy."

I don't know how you manage to keep up with the painting, creating, and responding to blog comments. I can't keep up and I don't have nearly the #'s commenting as you do!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm ashamed to say I'm just now doing the PPF rounds for last week- it's been a crazy time around here! But I am SO very glad I made it, 'cause this is beautiful- I absolutely LOVE it! I'm one of those folks who really likes seeing the process others take, and I loved seeing the small changes and improvements you've made along the way. I hope you have it prominently displayed in your home as well as using it for a card, because you need to be able to admire it daily!
