CHRISTMAS TAGS ON CANVAS

Hi,
Wondered if anyone wanted to see what happened to my T Holtz Christmas tags. I splodged an old canvas with paint so the background would harmonise with the tags. Unfortunately I could only get 10 of them on it. Am going to splodge another smaller canvas for the 2 remaining.

I thought they would make quite festive canvases to go on the wall and to remind me of the fun and tears I had creating them. Now all I need is for somebody to produce a challenge for 10 Christmas Tags on Canvas............yea right, some hope.........lol

Its our Wedding Anniversary today...............and guess who forgot to make a card........not a difficult question was it..........lol Oooh am so ashamed of myself................card makers will put me in their Sin Bin..........but I have an idea to make something with a toilet roll so will try that and just hope it works out...........

Have a lovely evening and thank you for popping in......am off now to find a spare toilet roll...... Take care, Annette x

THE FINAL ONE..........12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Hi everyone, well thats it my final tag of the 12 Days of Christmas, phew......have loved the adventure and learning new techniques plus meeting some extraordinary artists along the way. Must also thank ArtyJen and Jennie of the Artistic Stamper for making it possible to view all the tags in one place, oh wow that was a great experience.

This final tag turned out completely differently to how I planned it........due to the fact that with all the heat embossing, cracking, painting etc the baubles turned out to look oriental. Well that was a shock to me I can tell you..... so hence the little square of stampboard instead of a calendar.

Thank you so much for supporting me through these tags and for all your encouraging comments and also welcome to all my new followers in the last month, its been great to meet you and visit your blogs.

Have a goodly week and take care, Annette x

DAY 11 - 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Happy Sunday everyone.

The only things needed for this tag I had available, was a tree embossing folder and some string........and it was too late to buy some of that foam to make my own stamp in the way Tim Holtz demonstrated, but am definitely going to get some of this as its a brilliant way of creating your own stamps. Even if you are not joining in this challenge I highly recommend you watch the demo.

Embossed the tree on the music sheet, distress inked and added a little cream Flowersoft. Silver embossed the stars and outlined the tag in silver cream. The Angel is a stamp from Crafty Individuals (one of my favourites) and coloured with distress inks with a little Frosted Lace Stickles added. I wanted to create a mystical look with the angel coming up from the mist, so used some silky stuff left over from Halloween and am quite pleased with the result. But left no room for the bookplate, ran out of space because I got too carried away with the overall look......bad Netty.......smack hands........

Have just seen Day 12...........not a hope, haven't got a thing needed, so will have to really think hard about that one...........and my poor brain is worn out..........aahhhh ........do you care.....No not a jot.........lol
Just seen the new Sparkles Blog so am entering this Christmas tag in their challenge plus The Stamp Man are doing tags so hopefully can enter their challenge as well.

Thank you again for bearing with me on my tags..........nearly over now.........phew. I hope you all have a joyful Sunday and take care, Annette x

DAY 10 - 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Hi, Well this was an adventure for me as had never embossed plastic packing before, neat.....

I didn't have the snowman but I do have the bird, so went with that. Dressed him up in little red boots and fancy wing, thought he looked kind of smart......... Used the tree embossing folder for him to stand on and for the plastic I used a Crafts-Too embossing folder of flowers, not quite snowflakes but its the best I had for the job......... Oh dear I never realised it was so late....but wanted to get it finished. So am off to bed now, catch you all later........Have a lovely weekend and take care. Annette x

DAY 9 - 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Hi, after yesterdays disaster thought I would play safe...........haven't got the Rosette die so I stamped some paper with a Mistletoe stamp, (although you can't see its mistletoe in the photo) pleated it, rubbed edges with Inca Gold and added a flower centrepiece and a button. Mounted it on some florist cotton webbing. The music stamp is very small 'Silent Night' so stamped it many times to fill up the space then swiped it in Pearl Glimmer Mist. Edged the tag in Inca Gold and on other smudgy bits. Unfortunately the photo makes it look orange, but it really is Gold I promise. Oh goodness I've just lit a joss stick and its making me choke...........just going to put it out so I can breathe..................aaah that is so much better......

Today in the post came a wonderful prize from Cindy of plantslist.blog .........wow will you take a look at this, isn't it just brilliant, I adore this and have to tell its hanging up already on my wall....a fabulous mixed media canvas..........oooh am so lucky..........thank you so much Cindy and I promise I won't tell anyone its one of mine.............

Thank you for all your fabulous support through thick and thin, am sure you don't realise how much I appreciate it. Off to post this in Artyjens blog, because if you complete all the tags, there is a prize drawn at random from Jennie from The Artistic Stamper, how brill is that..... Catch you all later, take care, Annette x

DAY 8.......SAVING A TOTAL CATASTROPHE

Yep its a Catastrophe, but am showing it anyway so you can see what NOT to do...........

I had this brilliant idea of using the BirdCage as a stencil and stamping over it with a word stamp in the hope that it would look like St Pauls Cathedral.................well it obviously didn't work did it.......lol But I ploughed on regardless using my town houses die cut on grunge and painted in acrylic........that bit was OK and I stamped my little reindeer......... which had to be acrylic painted over, as it was done on glossy cardstock and the Archival Ink wouldn't dry properly....sigh sigh.... stamped stars with gold paintdabber and plonked on some snow......... result a total mess.......and no amount of charms would make it look any better.......so didn't bother wasting them.......

PART TWO
Hours later since a lot of your kind comments had already been written, I cut out this Santa from a Christmas card I received today..........whoops......but its for a good cause and I think it has saved the catastrophe. Now its Santa coming out of a Snow Dome.........what do you think, any better......yep I think so..........lol

Lets hope I do a better job of Day 9....
Take care and thank you for bearing with me. Annette x

DAY 6 - 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Hi,

Am out of sequence a bit with these tags, but was waiting for the embossing folder to arrive and it did yesterday, yipee as I really wanted this one for making some Christmas cards.

I followed Tims technique with the folder, but I didn't like the huge greeting that was on Tims, so replaced with a Metal word which has had Inka Gold rubbed on it. The only reindeer stamp I have is very small and would have been lost on the tag so I recycled this fairy. Stamped music onto tissue and cut the edges as shown in Tims tag. On reflection am not sure if I should have stamped the swirls a darker colour onto the embossing folder as the gold stars and swirls seem a bit hazy........aah well.......!

Sometime today have got to tackle Day 8 and its a minefield for me........dare not look at Day 9, well I might have a peep..........just in case its an easy one.........lol

Hope you all have a good day as its definitely warming up, thank goodness. Thank you so much for supporting me through these challenges. Ooops nearly forgot this is linked to Artyjen where you will see some super duper tags, Take care, Annette x

DAY 7 - 12 TAGS OF CHRISTMAS

Hi, as promised I have stuck to Tim Holtz tag design this time, apart from the flourishes and a different texture fade; just replaced the flourishes with white glitter snowflakes.........the tag was made from an old postcard.
Hope to make a start on Day 6 tonight sometime. Just seen Day 8.........well my heart sunk, I wonder how many people have that Santa and his Sleigh mask, well definitely not me, oh dear my poor brain........
There are some fabby tags over at Artyjen.blogspot plus watch out for Artyjens' interpretation of the tags as well.
Oh no.....blog and double blog, just noticed have put the wrong colour for the centre of the flower am sure they should be a greeny yellow.........oh hang, just when I thought I had done it correctly...........
Thank you for bearing with me on this obstacle course of mine I do appreciate it. Will be back later after I have turned that olde worlde Cuttlebug handle for Day 6.
Must have a coffee first though. Take care, Annette x

DAY 5 - 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS!!

I know....gasp shock horror whatever is she doing I can hear you all cry..........this is nothing like Tims' Santa Tag.......... and sobs of real tears from all the purists..........well its like this my new stamps arrived yesterday from the wonderful ART JOURNEY and of course after yearning for them for so long I had to use at least one of them didn't I.......and I love this girl............ so after my floor had been laid in the kitchen and all the cleaning up done I sat down and made this tag last night (I deserved a treat...lol). But did follow one of the techniques which is the white acrylic edging, albeit its a bit feathery and also did the music and diecut, but the numbers are stickies.....not metal. (hang head in shame) I silver embossed the snowflakes. The Noel stamp was a freebie from another wonderful shop CRAFTY INDIVIDUALS. My plan for all these tags is to make them into a Tag Collage Christmas Picture that can be hung up.
Will try and do better for Day 6.....honest.......and will try not to be so selfish...

If you would like to pop over to Artyjen.blogspot you can see how it should be done and between you and me there are some terrific tags displayed there.
Challenges entered PaperPlay - Holiday Tags and The Artistic Stamper

Will be back later to view all your fabulous blogs. Thanking you for sticking with me I do appreciate it. Take care, Annette x

DAY 4 - 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Morning everyone..... I come to you shamefaced because I don't have a Father Christmas Stamp or paper with him on it.......however did that happen, just cannot believe it....... Not got a facet but have got fragments so I did at least do the technique on that........but to hang it all I stamped the clustered flower upside down - hence its now a balloon.... The paper and image came from a Complimentary copy of the 'Making Cards Magazine' and Gems were from stash and aryclic paint for Snow. The alcohol inks used on the fragment were Plum and Cranberry. So this tag is not completely recycled, unless you call going in the rubbish bin and back out again recycled.....lol
Anyway I did the best I could. Nothing like Tims but hopefully the next one will be.

Artyjen is hosting a fun gallery of these tags and this is really worth a visit......wow there are some fabby crafters displaying their tags on it. Am entering this tag in Jennies Artistic Stamper Blog in the hope I might win a Father Christmas stamp.........lol

This totally gorgeous Pear made of fabric came from Efemera-Ink........yep I won it, how lucky can you get.....ooh its so fabulous, thank you so much Effie you create so many wonderful items.

Thank you everyone for sticking with me on these tags even though I cannot always get it quite right, well hardly ever............lol Have a Happy Sunday and take care, Annette x
PS... just seen Day 5.......would you believe it.........its another Father Christmas.......oh nooooooooo

DAY 3 OF 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Brillioso I have something at long last the Tim Holtz Die Cut Bird..........wheeeeeeeee, but after that its improvise all the way......... Am still trying to get through the 12 days using recycled products and so far so good.

Tag and Bird cut from left over thick Watercolour paper, the Moss is Flowersoft dyed with Alcohol Inks. Sparkly Organza Ribbon off a present and an ear-ring fragment for the centre of the flower. Stamped script over scraps of tissue for the flower, very old glitter instead of tinsel. Ooh and nearly forgot the little picture on the side was once on a Christmas Gift.

Stamps used: PaperArtsy, Inkadinkado, TJ Designs and Debbi Moore. Apart from the improvisations I have followed Tim Holtz technique for this tag......yea......

Artyjen.blogspot is running a fun gallery for anyone who wants to add their tags to it. There are some really great interpretations over there, well worth a visit if you get the time.

I still cannot get into the kitchen because now the sealing they have put on the floor has to dry and my cooker is up in the air on its side............and will be that way until Monday afternoon when they put the new floor in...... aah well, not long to wait now.

Be seeing you again soon I hope. Am now off to visit all my crafty friends blogs and have a nosey round.....ooh we do love doing that don't we...............lol Take care and stay warm, and thank you for sticking with me........ Annette x

DAY 2 OF 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Hi, again have had to improvise......with any luck one the tags out of the 12 Tim Holtz is making I will have the correct products........ will let you know when I strike lucky..............lol Again I have Recycled.
Would have loved to have embossed the flowers but because we are in such upheaval, with the kitchen being gutted and dust flying everywhere I do not have an available surface to do it on.
Hopefully we will be back to normal by Tuesday, fingers crossed.

This does not look remotely like Tim's tag, incorrect stamp, no metal bird.......etc........ but he did say Think Outside the Box so this will be my mantra throughout this challenge methinks...... but the colourings are close, I think.....

The weather is so freezy at the moment and thankfully today our builder has finished leaving the front door open all day........brrrrrrrrrr Hope you all have a great evening and stay warm.

Am entering this tag into the Simon Says Stamp a Tag Challenge.

Thank you for following me and hope you will stick with me through the 12 Days of Christmas and hope you won't get too bored with the tags. Take care, Annette x

DAY 1 OF 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Phew just made it by the skin of my teeth. For me Day 1 had to be like many others, improvisation, as we cannot possibly own everything of Tim Holtz unless we are millionaires.....lol

100% recycle used to make this tag. Oh no, have just seen Day 2 come up......eeek, See you later must have my porridge before I can face another .

Take care, keep warm, Hugs Annette x
