Compendium of Curiosities - Week 5

Hi

The Challenge Linda from Studio L3 set for us this week was page 43 from the Compendium.......Distress Powder..........my one and only T Holtz distress powder arrived today, Walnut Stain.

So I merrily started, full of hope and excitement........AND oh dear this was not how I envisaged it to work, so am not sure if I've done it correctly or not even though I followed all the instructions. But in a strange and weird way I like it....

The first one PEACE AND GOODWILL TO ALL MEN was stamped on plain white card, then distress inks were used, the distress embossing powder and gold embossed the edges.

The second one WINTER HOLIDAYS was stamped on white card then distress inked and glimmer misted before I used the new distress embossing powder, this gives a completely different look to the embossing. As you can see I mounted it on Laura Ashley paper and distressed the whole lot.!!!!!!

Stamps used Paper Artsy and Debbi Moore

Thank you for popping by and supporting me in my trial and error efforts. But I look at it this way, each different technique used is a big adventure, you never know what you are going to produce. Please visit Lindas blog Studio L3 and see some wonderful examples of this technique. Annette x

Love your tags and I so love that crown on the first one. The colour combinations works so well. You should see the mistakes I make, there is always a bin full before I make a piece of art LOL. I like the fact your art is always so individual and unique, its great. Tracy x

Netty, they're gorgeous! They look just like a Distress Powder embossed card should look! You chose some really great images for this, and I love how you can really see the different looks that can be achieved with this product.

The background on your peace card is just spectacular-- it looks like the Northern Lights are shining behind her!

Great job, sweet lady! ♥

Well done, they are beautiful. I really must get some distress embossing powder, I haven't even got one pot!

WOW, Annette, yours turned out especially well. I can see from your tags, that an image with more area works better with the distressed EP. We learn so much by viewing each other's art.

Thanks for visiting at my blog and commenting on MY CCC#5 post. Yours are lovely. I especially love the antique feel that the embossing gives to the 1st tag. I'd not have thought of that color combination for a winter tag, but it works beautifully. Good job!!!
