CofC 28 and a Tile

Hi, dear Linda of StudioL3 who is running Compendium of Curiosities has given us page 57, Colourful Layered Fragment........whoopee I said, I have a fragment (of sorts) yay then turned to the page..........oh no, haven't got the other requirement, but with a bit of nosing around the other entries I found another way of doing it.........tried it...........result utter mess, so cleaned it all off and started again and again and again......ooh am so fed up by now........then I thought I would try something else just in case it would work.........well it did, but trouble is I only had one colour.........so dropped a bit of gold in and by accident it also went onto my dragonfly. This is obviously Not the way to do it, but you can see the gorgeous effects of some the others over at Studio L3. I also had a tea bag left over from the Gingersnappers Tea Bag Template Challenge so used this as well, plus a spare small book cover; so put it all together and this is it........lol

Frustrated with it all decided to use a couple of the alcohol inks on a spare kitchen tile and see what happened.........wow am really pleased with this, such a great effect and wanted to show you in case you had thought about having a go. I saw this first on A Penny for Your Thoughts - Penny Benningtons Blog, oh wow she creates some fab things. If you have these sort of inks and a spare tile have a go, its such fun.

Sorry this is a long post but had so much to tell you. Have a great weekend whatever you are doing and take care, Annette x

Have a nice weekend my dear!

Your tile is fantastic Netty and I love your card. It seems to me as a non stamper you have to have so many things, elements, inks etc. to do these challenges. It must cost you a fortune. Hugs xx

I don't have CofC so I've no idea what it's supposed to look like, but this looks lovely to me!

We all have craft moments like the ones you had. You turned the event into something wonderful though..Your tile is so lovely. I think sometimes it's all about having a creative mind and letting the magic happen as it will. You certainly did.

This was a technique I couldn't get to grips with at all... but I love your tile. Are you going to leave it like that, or (I am sure you will) turn it into something fabulous?!

Sorry you had such a hard time, know how that feels, but your result is wonderful. I've been thinking of dragonflies a lot lately also.

Netty it looks so cool and what you did with your tile is beautiful, Penny's tutorial is just awesome. I had a go myself a while back.

Netty, the art with the dragonfly is really a WOW! It has so many areas that I find fascinating. Even the fringy look to the edges. I'd love to know how to do that but it's probably one of the C of C secrets.

Your beautiful tile gives me an idea for next year's gifts for my Bible study ladies. I could make trivets for them with the alcohol ink on tiles from Lowes. Put little felt feet and they'd be gorgeous. Now to dream up how to seal them so AI didn't rub off (or will it?).

These are both beautiful, I love what you have done with that tile.

Faye asked about sealing the tile. Apparently Diamond Glaze is good for this. When my tile is finished this is what I shall use.
The edging of the book page is edged with Black Paint Dabber - just swiping it will create this effect.
Hope this info is useful. You can always email me, am always happy to answer questions where I can.
