Hanging My Head in Shame.........CofC-27

Yep am coming to you hanging my head with shame at my example for the Compendium of Curiosities No 27, Distress Misting Masks. Its so naff...........but after covering this and myself in Terracotta and Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls I was not in the best of moods, especially as I had to go for some special XRays yesterday covered in this stuff, not a good look, no wonder the doctor and the nurses looked at me strangely....lol
To see some wonderful examples of this technique from page 60 of the CofC you need to visit dear Linda of Studio L3 and believe me there are some fab examples there. Will try and do better next week.
Thank you for popping in and hope the visit didn't make you feel too sick....... Take care and have a happy day. Annette x

Make sure you go back looking a mess again and they won't stare anymore..they will just take it for granted that you are an excentric artist!

We are all too hard on ourselves sometimes, I do it all the time!!
I love this orange color, and the masking is perfect! I've been putting this challenge off because I'm not good at masking, but got to give it a try anyway!

Pick your head up this instant because you have no reason to hang it in shame. It's gorgeous. I hope that all is well with the XRays however, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who goes to the doctor covered in crafting stuff. I went recently with hot glue in places I'm still trying to figure out how it got where it did, sitting in the waiting room peeling and pulling it off to some strange looks.

It looks lovely to me Netty and I know where you're coming from on the covered in inky stuff as I regularly have to go out with technicolour fingers - the hazard of being a stamper who likes making her own backgrounds I think!!!

Went over and looked at the others--your's is very worthy. Love how the middle flower on the crown looks like it's the purse closure. Hope your Dr.visit turns out with good results.

I'm puzzled what is wrong with this it looks perfect from here fabulous in fact. Now if a nurse of doctor were to examine you covered in orange paint that might deserve an odd look but not the other way around wear your paint with pride LOL XOXO Zoe

Netty, Your crowned jewel purse is adorable and I love the color! No need to hang your head in shame, because we all love it. So what if you went to the docs a glimmer. I go with grungy looking stained finger nails, because sometimes it takes numerous washings for the inks to come off. Hugs to you!

You're too hard on yourself, Annette! I think it looks lovely. I also love that someone else goes out in public all inky - I'm sure many have wondered what I've been up to lol!

Do not be so strict with yourself, Netty! It looks fantastic (as always)

Forgot to say my face had the colouring on as well which I hadn't noticed in my mad rush to get there........ no wonder they asked me if I was OK.......lol

You're too hard on yourself.. this is a great example of the technique, Netty! Love this idea, and I laughed when I imagined what the doctor and nurse thought about your orange skin... lol...

Barbara Mason said...

Netty- I love this little purse-oh so Chanel!! Don't beat yourself up so much, silly goose!!! Too bad you can't wear the purse to the Dr.'s office!!!

Faye said...

Not knowing what it's supposed to look like, I'd say that it is gorgeous and no need to feel anything but proud of it. The terra cotta color is great. Not so sure it looks good when painted on people.

Don't fret about the wrong name, as I have also done that a few times.

Hope your tests or whatever turned out ok.

What's that saying "I know there's glitter in my hair, I put it there myself"; I think that's on a rubber stamp somewhere. I love your CCC example. I think I have that crown mask stuffed in a drawer somewhere too. Think I'll dig it out.

Netty, don't you dare hang your head in shame! This is a lovely work of masked art, honey. The color is vibrant and happy, and the little stitches and pearls compliment the crown perfectly. I love it, actually,

I hope all is okay with your health!!! Let me know, okay??
