CofC33 and a Doodlezect !!

Hi, once again the lovely Linda of Studio L3 has given us another challenge from the Book of Curiosities - Altered Metal Alcohol Inks (page 56). For me it had to be another card as am still playing catch up this month.

The paper is by RLB, the CD has been alcohol inked in various colours (which doesn't really show up all that well in the photogaph) and so has the butterfly. Used a circle shaped piece of chipboard and painted it and cut out a Flower from the RLB paper. Mmmm I think thats it, hope haven't missed anything out. There are some beautiful examples over at Studio L3 and Linda's example is just gorgeous.

Have you seen all the Zectangling going on in blogland, wow they look terrific. So last night while watching the TV methinks to myself why not have a go at this. This is more of a Doodlezect and my first attempt, but will definitely do some more as its so interesting......Did I have a plan.......heck no, just went with flow.......and had fun. It amused me and hope it amuses you.

Feeling a lot better today and thank you again for all your lovely messages wishing me well. Take care and enjoy the day. Hugs Annette x

Lovely work again, and glad you are feeling better. I did a lot of doodling back in the 90s, must dig some of the oldies out!

Love your card, that CD looks fabulous with all the alcohol inks on it. Love your new word for Zentangle:) I have been having a go at it myself too and find it actually takes a long time to do one doodle. Hope all is well with you.

I'm glad your feeling better! I love your card! What a great use for all those old program CD's! I used to cut them up into fragments, but it does make quite a nice frame. And the butterfly is fabulous. I've heard of the zentangles; I thought it was a kit! LOL! Very cool!

Love your pieces!! gorgeous card and such intricate doodling :) Thanks for stopping by at my blog today. You asked about gluing down the feathers :) Well I did ruin the first one by trying to use thick matte medium. I switched to thinner gloss gel, lay it down heavy on the paper (I used heavy weight watercolourpaper) lay the feather down and gently used an inch wide brush stroking the feathers in place :) I then sealed it with some more gel medium. Hope this was helpful :)
hugs and smiles,
Linda

Gorgeous card Netty and glad to hear you're feeling a bit better now.
Great zentangle doodling too and strangely enough this was why my stamp designs got made as I was doodling at stamp club run by Chris from Hobby Art's wife Helen (a long time friend of mine) and he took one look and asked if I'd like to do some as stamps.
Hope you do some more cos I love what you've doodled.

Awesome "flowing" Netty! I haven't previously seen this Zectangling, but it reminds me very much of the geometric shapes coloring books that are so fun.

Your alcohol ink project is gorgeous, too! Love the kaleidoscope of colors!

I love your altered CDs, Netty (I have a real beauty hanging on my studio wall, in fact!), and this is a gorgeous work of art! I love the effect of the alcohol inks on the mirrored surface, and the paper you used is perfect. The sweet little butterfly is a lovely touch.

That's your first Zentangle?? Good grief, you're a natural! I could practice for two years and still not create anything remotely as wonderful as this. Great job!

Glad you're feeling better, honey!
