WOO HOO, ITS PAINT PARTY FRIDAY AGAIN - THREE WORKS IN PROGRESS

Hi, its the Royal Wedding today.........woo hoo so can't stop long and its Paint Party Friday.  I have three projects which are all Works in Progress.
This one is done in Acrylics and am still finding my way with this medium, but at the same time am having the greatest adventure.  Still loads of work to be done, texturising the hair and to chill some of those flowers, think I overdid those........lol

These are Journal Pages which still need quite a bit of work doing to them; using Mixed Media and a little bit of drawing from me.  I just love that woman who is calculating the cost of the dress.............lol

This is done in Watercolours and has loads more to be done to it.  Have never drawn childrens faces before so again its a learning curve............they don't look very happy do they............Why my characters are never smiling heaven only knows, because I am by nature a happy person, but obviously the characters must reflect my insecurities in drawing and painting.     Ha..., typical have answered my own question.............lol

If you get the chance after watching the Royal Wedding today to visit Paint Party Friday and all its fabulous artists its well worth it.  Thank you so much for supporting and encouraging me on my Art Journey it means so much.  Take care and have a great Bank Holiday Weekend; will be back later to see all your wonderful creations , Hugs Annette x

Woooo! Having fun & looking great!!! This is so much more exciting than a royal wedding!!! Truthfully us convict Aussies don't get the point (outside of the sweetie Queen the others haven't been too successful LOL)!!! Have fun though I may end up getting a cup of English Breakfast tea & toast the couple, they do seem sweet too ;)

I really like all of these, the top one the flowers do pop but I like them with the girl, they work. The journal page gave me a chuckle and the portraits are very well done, hard to do portraits (for me)with watercolor.

Netty, I LOVE all of the different projects you've got going. Your acrylic paiting is fantastic! Oh, that lady is intriguing. LOVE the gorgeous hair!

And your journal pages. Ooh, that explosion of color..the two characters are FAB! LOVE THEM to pieces. I can't decide which is my favorite. They are adorable. ;)

The children in the watercolor are precious. The softness... I can't wait to see all in their finished stages. :)

Amazing Annette! I'm so impressed that you can draw anything at all. I'm more of a "let's color this inside the lines" type of gal. Your work is really coming together - you might not think they are finished, but they are certainly fun and inspirational!

Netty, I always enjoy your paint party friday posts. You have such variety in your art. Your acrylics paintings are bright and happy. Your watercolors are soulful. At least this one is. Beautiful work. Have a great weekend. (And wasn't that a gorgeous wedding gown? Just the type I like. And all those hats. Very exciting times.)

Looks like you've been using acrylic all your life. I love to see WIPS and then to see how they turn out when they are all finished. I really need to get back to my art journaling. It's just not where my mind is as of late. Great job!

Carola Bartz said...

I think it's amazing how you work on several projects at the same time. I have the feeling I should do that as well, then I don't have to wait during those drying times and would definitely get a whole lot more done.
I love your paintings, they are beautiful. I always like your choice of colors.

Mary Hysong said...

Love all three! I have trouble with most faces too; tho it helps if I am copying from a photo, just focus on the shapes and shading, forget it's a face and in the end it's the best. Happy PPF!

You're quite the juggler these day with three WIP's! I love how adventurous you are! Children's faces are HARD, so don't give up, you're on the right track:) And I LOVE your journal page- the calculating lady made me smile ;) and Your face in the flowers is coming along beautifully! I do agree that you might want to tone down the flowers just a little- I LOVE flowers but I also want to see that beautiful FACE you've worked so hard on:D
Sorry I'm so late to the party, it was my birthday this weekend and things were so crazy busy, I'm just now making the rounds!

Three great works - you've been busy! I do like the idea that the women is mentally going through the justification process of why she should buy that dress in her head - something we all do!!

Anne Butera said...

Your three in-progress works are wonderful and each so different.

I like what you said about your characters reflecting your insecurities. What an interesting idea!

Oh, and you can never overdo flowers. :)
