WORKS IN PROGRESS !!!!

Hi, Happy Mothers Day everyone and even if you are not a Mother have a Special Lady Day..... I have the wine, chocolates and Prisoner Cell Block H dvds......yep I totally adored that series with its bendy walls, scripts in the filing cabinet and woo hoo music and of course the fabulous characters......

I am being very brave or very foolish, but am showing you all the work I have in progress at the moment. As you know I started Art Classes a while ago and am loving it. When I started I couldn't even draw a box.........still not much good at those..........lol

They are both works in progress. The first one is taken from the Poppy Girl, but have made her slightly older, still loads yet to do on this as you can see. These are both Watercolours.

The second one is an experiment........I saw a picture in a magazine that was advertising eye make-up and thought to myself......mmmm will try this, except mine hasn't any hair......but when this was quarter way through I realised these models don't have wrinkles or creases like normal people they look more like the Mannequins that you see in shop windows, so hopefully have portrayed this.

Am showing these at the Paint Party Friday blog (see my side bar) where loads of fabulous artists display their work........I know what you are thinking.........so am I...........how very dare you......lol But hopefully one of them at least can give me some useful pointers. The blog asks, why you draw/paint and there are some very deep and meaningful reasons been given by various artists...........for me.........I just adore it and oh so want to improve, so its practice, practice, practice.

Hope I haven't bored you to death..........because I do go on a lot I know. Thank you for coming over and help yourself to a glass of wine and chocolates. Have a great day whatever you are doing. Take care, hugs Annette x

I think you are doing a wonderful job. If I attempted that, well, you just wouldn't want me to! Keep up the practice, apparently it makes perfect:)

I'm impressed Netty. I couldn't even begin to do anything like that. The main thing is that you get enjoyment out of it. It certainly looks like you're learning too.

Happy Mother's Day Annette. Hope you have a great day.
Your ladies are amazing, what talent you have for portraits. Now don't forget magazine models will have been airbrushed for publishing. They are just like us in real life - or maybe they have been under the knife - ugh horrible thought.
Take care.
luv and hugs {brenda} xoxox

Happy Mother's Day and a warm welcome to PPF!

You have nothing to worry about - these paintings are wonderful, really pretty and expressive. I seem incapable of successfully drawing faces, so I'm in awe of someone like you who can do such a fab job!

Good to 'meet' you via Paint Party Friday!

Great work Netty, love the pictures, especially the poppy girl. You asked me if I used watercolour crayons - sometimes, yes, but this time, no, just used my paint box and a fine brush.

I love your poppy girl. She definitely belongs at the Paint Party. Your work in progress is looking very good, too. Those models do have lines and blemishes, but they all get airbrushed away for the ads! I saw a really cool video on it once. They airbrushed everything smooth and even made the necks longer, digitally!

Both are very great and professional! I am always impressed by your fantastic works of art, dear Netty!
Have a wonderful week my friend.

Both of your watercolors are very impressive. I don't think that I could do anything close to that... I actually love the hairless mannequin - and yes, they do like mannequins, don't they, not like normal people. I guess the human features like wrinkles etc. have been put away with using some computer technique. Quite awful when you come to think of it.

Happy Mother's Day, Nettie! I am so impressed with your art!! You're doing a wonderful job! From what I understand, faces are terribly hard to draw, paint, etc. You should be very proud of yourself! <3 Candy
