PAINT PARTY FRIDAY - Week 8

Hi, its time again for Paint Party Friday, one of my favourite times of the week.  Where I can show my Art (and I use this term loosely.....lol) efforts along with some fabulous Creative Artists.

Have made some adjustments to one of last weeks Work in Progress (Miss Hyacinth) and feel a bit happier with it, but still not sure how to improve it, so all suggestions are welcome.

I have created this Art Journal Page (Acrylics) from the words "Then Cherish Pity, lest you drive an Angel from your Door" by William Blake. There is a lot more work to be done on this but need some thinking time.................if you would love to see some fabulous Art just tap my sidebar Paint Party Friday and you can feast your eyes.

On a personal note, my husband came home with a big grin on his face and said look what I've bought you; you are going to love this.....................now bearing in mind we have been married umpty ump years and know each other inside and out, I got really excited................Until I saw it............trying so hard to keep a huge smile on my face as the present was revealed..........a new Hoover..............look he said at those great colours, just knew you would love this...........go on try it.............so I did, for all of 20 seconds........need I say more...................what is it with this man who says he loves me.......................lol

Thank you for supporting me on my journeys into Art it means a lot to me, and keeps me on course.  Have a great weekend whatever you are doing and take care, Hugs Annette x   (the drudge)

He may not be a romantic but I'd say your husband is a keeper for bringing you that Hoover.

I e-mailed you about your (our) flower girls. Yours turned out super-duper!
Hugs,
Cheryl

Great paintings Annette! I have to laugh at your Hoover story. My husband bought me a robot sweeper one year, the kind that runs by itself. I was not happy at all, is now in the basement with the rest of the junk!! He thought it was the greatest thing.

I love both paintings Annette. Sweet gift from your DH, have you put any thought into painting it? Maybe some nice hot rod stripes... maybe then he would be tempted to take it for a spin, lol.

Your pictures are brilliant, but I have to say the 'Hoover' has to be the star of this post, you will have to treasure it. When do we see the old one in its 'altered state'. Yvonne xx

Men ! Sounds like my hubby for the birth of our first child mine visited me in the clinic eith a huge box under his arm . As he is a jewellery designer I was expecting as you do one of his beautiful creations. Everyone gathered round the bed whereby he revealed a pair of very unromantic cowboy boots which I never wore ! Beautiful art Annettte they don't look like they need anything to me ! and the blue tones wow I love them.

The painting is jut beautifiul. The hoover, well, that is a man for you. They love tools so they naturally assume women love them too! You gotta hand it to the guy though, he really wants you to love it and he did point out the colors too! :-)

Kharlie Bug said...

I don't think Miss Hyacinth needs anything at all. She is perfect the way she is, sitting amidst all those loves flowers! Oh the way a man's mind works, I'm sure he was over the moon to give it to you too.

Fab painting Annette. It is only a truly thoughtful caring man that buys you a hoover for a prezzie. Bless!
Regards Florence.

He bought you a colourful vacuum cleaner? LOL

Still love Miss Hyacinth and very powerful journal page!

CuddlyBunny said...

I think your hubby needs an improptu gift ... perhaps a brightly-colored bucket and a squeegee? :)

Your creations are definitely ART! Hyacinth actually reminds me of the lovely ceramic "masks" that were popular in the U.S. in the 1950s and 60s ... they were based on starlets of the 1920s and 30s ... very chic!

And your journal page is just amazing! I love the ethereal quality1

I am loving the direction your art is going in, but the Hoover story made me LAUGH OUT LOUD! Too funny, and too typical for a man!

Okay Netty, Here is what I think you should do...just a suggestion mind you....
Paint dear hubby wearing the most magical apron and vacuuming around your easel while you paint..that would bring many smiles to all I'm sure and a great souvenir for him.
Gotta luv these thoughtful hubbies; I have one who's the same....lol! They are truly very adoring and loveable, wouldn't trade them for the world!
Oh, sorry but loving your art...just got carried away with the Hoover....lol!
Happy Mother's Day ....Annabelle xx >^..^<

Love the way the top one turned out and I don't know that you need to do more to it at all. The new one is going to be wonderful.

Love your lady's face. I would add her shoulders to the painting. I was once told by an art teacher that it is ok to scalp but not to behead. In other words, you can cut the top of the head off but do not cut the head off at the neck. I think adding her shoulders would bring her out from the background more, too. This lovely deserves to have the spotlight and not fade into the busy background. JMHO.

Oops, also meant to say that I really like that journal page!

Thanks you for the William Blake quote; it reminds me of all of those stories where the ill-favored daughter or son is kind to an old lady or man and receives riches, and the favored one is not kind and gets rewarded with nasties. Wonderful to link those up with Blake!
