Finished Marianne at long last ready for Paint Party Friday

Woo Hoo its Paint Party Friday hosted by Kristin and Eva the generous talented duo..........
I have at last completed Marianne, phew and am showing you a close up of her profile so you can have a better look and hopefully see the gold paint which has been added.

My homework from Art Class is a picture of Ballerinas which has been done on acrylic paper as am not at all confident in doing this painting.  Thought I would show the preliminary sketch, as you can see, not great and found it hard to get all the placements correct.

This is the second part, laying some of the colours down as a base.

Heaven only knows when I shall get time to do some more to this as its my husbands 70th birthday next week and celebrations start on Saturday and go on until Wednesday this coming week.  At least he will have a great time, bless him.

Have to go to town now and buy his birthday card...........shame on me..........lol,  but will be back to see all your terrific artwork and creations later.  Have a great weekend and take care, hugs Annette xx

PS:  Looking at the comments below about the birthday card and me buying one.  Had better explain why.  He is not keen on my cardmaking as he says they are not normal...............so there you have it........am I upset by this.........not a jot...............that man has no taste..............lol

oh Nettie, Marianne looks fabulous and your ballerina's are looking great, too!

As far as home made cards, my husband doesn't appreciate them either. My mom used to tell me...

"some people, all the taste they have is in their mouth" so there.

Ohh, balerinas are looking great! :)

Faye said...

Marianne is certainly a beauty, Netty. You have made a painting with such feeling. And the beginning dancers painting is really taking shape. I don't know that I could have made the leap from sketch to paint so fast! Looks good. You are getting a lot from this art class I probably should look into one again.

I make my husband's cards now. For years and years he never had a word to say about my work since he likes photorealism. When he really started hearing what others were saying, he has begun to make positive comments occasionally.

so stunning now its finished and the start of those ballerinas looks like it will turn out brill, love the composition. Hope you have a fab birthday celebration for your hubbys 70th

I get the store bought card thing, my husband is all about the card. Doesn't matter what the present is, the lack of an appropriate card completely cancels it out.

That B&W version of the ballerinas is awesome! The lines are so light and graceful, loads of implied movement. Lovely painted stage too.

Well,, she's all done and looking marvelous!!! love the new one too! when do you find time enough even to start, for heaven's sake? The days are so short here this summer,it makes me yearn to be able to commandeer a clock and make time turn back magically for once.
Hope you and your family have a great time for your husband's 70th! And hope you can sneak in a little more time for painting!
