Paint Party Friday.........................

Hi, Happy Friday to everyone and its Paint Party Friday, where the drink flows and nibbles are on hand....wow such a great place to be don't you think.......................lol
My tutor just went mmmmm about my portraits (shown last week) talk about constructive criticism, there was none.  Methinks I need a new art class................

Anyways onwards and upwards as they say..................am showing a mixed media piece which isn't quite finished.  Painted the background and stamped the butterflies from Lost Coast Designs and added a digital fairy.

This is as far as I've got with my Art Class Homework but hope to have it finished for the party next week.

Will be back tomorrow evening as I've joined in a new Art Challenge and have to tell you it was the greatest fun.  So please come back tomorrow as I think you will enjoy what am showing you.
It has to be Saturday evening as we are off to Loughborough for a Steam Train Ride and Dine, it was a present for my husband's 70th last year and we have only just got around to booking it.........

Have a smashing weekend and hopefully will see you tomorrow. Take care, hugs Annette x

Love your MM piece, those butterflies are gorgeous and you coloured them so beautifully. For what it's worth, I thought your portraits last week showed lots of progress and where great, don't be disheartened lol, maybe the tutor was having a bad hair day.....

New start looks great to, look forward to seeing the progress.

Love butterflies, love fairies, love your artwork.
And about the portraits - go your own way, you know exactly what you like and what you don't like. Take out of a lesson what you need and leave the rest behind.
Can your tutor make all the artwork you do??
I'll surely be back tomorrowevening.
Have fun - Gery

It does sound like you need a new art teacher - but I think your sketches are great anyway.

I love your mixed media piece. The colors are beautiful.

I agree a new class may be in order. I used to evaluate teachers as part of my job. She and I would have had a long long talk.

Have fun on your train ride!

Your piece is looking good so far! It is frustrating when people won't respond honestly, or at all (!) to your work.
Have a great creative weekend.

Your butterfly art is beautiful as always. Cannot believe, I can, that a teacher didn't give any input at all on portrait. Just taking your money you think? I can see lots of progress, you hand in ther and keep drawing them. hugs Annette

Oh how I love butterflies and those are gorgeous! Your lady is also very well done. I think portraits are really subjective, as long as you feel good about your progress, that's what counts! You're a great artist!

mmmm? All that effort and angst and all you got was mmmmm? You need a new teacher, hon, cuz that is not remotely helpful in improving nor does it recognize how far you've come already.

I am loving this new drawing already. Can't wait to see how she progresses!

CuddlyBunny said...

I'm excited to see what you do with your pencil drawing: She's wonderful so far!

And I adore the fairy and butterfly piece: It reminds me of the Cottingley Fairies (though in modern day technicolor, of course).

Good weekend to you, and happy birthday to your husband!

Netty, i love how 'free' the first one feels and the second one, i just LOVE. Even if you were to add very little to it - i love the expression and the compositon. And yes, if you get no tips on how to keep improving your drawing skills - you might need a new instructor. Unfortunately, there are a lot of crappy ones out there. Just keep drawing. xoxo

craftimamma said...

I absolutely love your butterfly creation Annette. That gorgeous blue sky and such pretty butterflies. It makes me smile each time I look at it.

As for your portrait drawings I thought they were brilliant last week and your art teacher well, I don't think she really deserves the title. If she isn't telling you where and how to improve just what is she teaching? This weeks drawing is really looking something and I can already see the expression. I would say you are improving inspite of your teacher not because of. My hat is off to you as I can't draw faces for love nor money.

Hugs
Lesley Xx
