Pages from my Art Journal for Paint Party Friday

There is a Lady sweet and kind,
Was never face so pleased my mind;
I did but see her passing by,
And yet I love her till I die.............Anon

Had already prepared a background in my Art Journal when on the page this face suddenly appeared in my mind, now have to say this very rarely happens to me.  But had read the quote above a couple of days ago so it had obviously influenced  me without knowing it...............  The lady has been drawn and coloured with Graphitints (first time have used these)

This page is totally different which includes doodling, drawing, painting and stamping.  I will quickly try and explain..........life had been hectic and my aura was definitely red for panic...........juggling so many things and keeping my eye on the ball and in this case 5 balls at a time which all wanted to sail away from me and felt as if I was swimming against the tide.  First the Storm and then the Serenity of the Lady above........thats what I love about Art, we all express our feelings in different ways.

This is another background which is waiting to be added to, what,  I do not know, its all an adventure of emotions.

Am really looking forward to some playtime this weekend as have just purchased a new Art book by Flora Bowley called Brave Intuitive Painting Let Go, Be Bold, Unfold............. heaven only knows what will happen, it will all probably turn out to be a great mess but at least will have fun trying it Flora's way.

Sorry about the lengthy post and its boring content.........so will understand if you don't read it...... am off to Paint Party Friday to see loads of fab artwork and will be dropping by to see you  over the weekend, in between Being Bold with the paints...........lol  Take care and have a smashing weekend, Annette x

The face is lovely, the bright red page scares me, as red always does , and the last page is very promising. Have a fun day, Valerie

Gosh, these pages are so different, yet all beautiful in their own way. My favourite is the top one, the background is just stunning. Would love to know what you used for that.

Hope your life settles down a bit... (I did read the whole post lol)

Hi Nettie,
Love the lady and poem...really beautiful. I love the little boats trying to sail away, great representation of how you felt. Agree our emotions are the biggest influence over the artwork we do... have a great weekend and relax... :)

the poem is lovely...and youre picture is quite ethereal.
Hope you manage to have a calm and peaceful weekend.

I'm so in awe of people who can actually draw - your serene girl is wonderful, as though she grew out of her background (which I suppose she did in a way). The roses are gorgeous - I'm amazed you feel they're a background, not sure I could bear to cover them up! Thank you for your suggestion over at Words and Pictures - I'm off to check out the Happy Daze challenge.

What a fabulous woman you have here- and the quote is perfect! I love when the magic strikes When something appears to me in the background of a painting demanding to be painted- it is so energizing.

A very pretty face. And I especially like the soft colors in the roses; it will be spectacular as a background.

Oh, that face fits so well with that poem. Love it! And that red vibrant color of the hand, yes, it gives a completely different feel, but just as lovely. You will have fun with Flora's book. And the nice thing with her painting style is: You can't mess up! If you don't like it, it's just another layer and you can merrily go on to the next one ;-)

Netty, I do love the lady's face that suddenly appeared in your beautiful background. You do faces so well. The middle piece sure does show some frustration and strong emotions. And the lower background is very lovely. Hope to see more on it later.

Netty, firstly, your post was neither long nor boring (And I should know as I am queen of not being able to make a long story short!) I love your journal pages - so different yet so clearly inspired by what was going on in your subconscious. I love the lady- it seems she definitely was created by your reading of that quote!

not too long to read because what you say has impact. all true & our art does go in many directions as our emotions & committments go in many. I love the girl, her hair is beautiful - my hair always looks flat with no dimension. ( my real & painted hair) someone else mentioned that book, can't wait to hear what you think of it. Here's to a calmer week!
cheers, dana
