Trying to Paint the Flora Bowley way..........works in progress

Hi, its Paint Party Friday, yaaaaaay and this week am showing you two works in progress.  There is no rush to finish them as want to think a bit more yet.  Anyways my book arrived by Flora Bowley called Brave Intuitive Painting....let go..be bold..unfold.....the backgrounds were a blast to do, have never slapped on the paint before............then just see what happens...........sounds exciting.......and it is.  The canvases used are previous works in progress which I didn't like,  so waste not want not and start afresh.

(18'' x 16 '')

(12'' x 10'')
Both very different but this made it very exciting for me.  Both Works in Progress are painted in Acrylics.  When your painting mojo is low this book certainly makes you want to get your paints out.

Am scheduling this post as need to get to town in the morning to buy some packaging.....yep somebody actually wanted to buy one of my previous canvases after seeing it on Facebook, plus a couple of my pendants,  can you believe it.....woo hoo...so the cash will be handy for some more acrylics and canvases.

Thanking you for popping in and will catch up with you all later.  Have a great weekend and take care of yourselves, hugs Annette xx

Luv the blues.....and all the colors in your 2nd canvas....just don't cut off your ear gf!

Karen Smithey said...

I haven't ordered her book, but I've been painting much the same way--slap the paint on, see what comes out! At first I was having trouble seeing anything in the paint, (I have much the same trouble with clouds, alas), but eventually I did start to see shapes and curves I could use!

It is very very fun, you're right.

minnemie said...

Ahh, just slapping the paint on does sound freeing - and fun! I especially lie the background on the first one.
