The Cottingley Fairies and a Surprise Gift

Hi, have not been creating for this blog in quite a while, but those of you who regularly follow me will know why and thank you so much for all your support on my Art Blog.

The Craft Room challenge at the moment is 20th Century.  Inspiration for my altered box comes from the famous Cottingley Fairies.

The beautiful fairies are a freebie from Astrid, will not bore you with too much detail, just to say, acrylics, glass bead texture gel, alcohol inks and stencils were used in the making of this box.

Its wonderful in the UK at the moment seeing all the blossom on the trees, daffodils and crocuses, it makes your heart sing after the awful winter we have had.  Even some of the rose trees are in bud.......

Am also entering this into the That's Crafty Challenge and Altered Eclectics  - Anything Goes

Now for my surprise gift  from the Queen of Altered Art,  Deborah Powell

Am calling him Prometheus
Thank you Deborah for the most wonderful altered art doll ever

Thank you for taking the time to pop in and hope all is well with you.  Hugs Annette xx

Where do I start Annette. Your box is fabulous. I do believe in faeries. And I feel quite confident that there are some living in our woods.
A gift from Astrid - lucky you! She is so much fun to follow. Like you, she makes amazing art!
Now the doll is a collector's item. I am sure about that! I don't think I have ever seen anything so unique.

I love the fairy box. (I'm making fairies lately too) It is so yummy looking with the gold and white. The fairies remind me of the cut-out-dolls that I used to play with as a child.

The gift of the altered art dollwas so very generous. Prometheus looks like it took many hours of love to make. It is also a very creative and fun looking doll.
