CANVAS

Hi, this is the Canvas I was working on at the weekend (the offcut of kitchen chipboard is now completed but can't show you until March, where you will see it in on the Gingersnaps blog).

The fab Helmet Girl image was created by the talented artist Andrea of http://smudgetastic.blogspot.com/ which she most kindly gave me.

The stamps in the chipboard circles were part of a prize given to me by another wonderful artist Martina. http://martina-stemple-gewerkel.blog.com/ thank you so much both of you. Thought you would like to see a picture of the fabulous prize Martina sent me. Please go and visit these wonderful artists blogs, you will be amazed.

All I did was paint the canvas in various colours, understamped it in script and a little masking; other mediums used were Caran D'Ache, gold paint dabber, gold embossing powder, clear embossing powder, crackle glaze, gesso, inca gold and the metal parts I used from stash. I need a couple of words to put on it, but as yet cannot make up my mind as they have to be short ones to fit on the canvas; so any suggestions would be great.

Not sure if this qualifies for Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is masking, still if you don't try you don't know do you............

Thank you for popping in, its a really cloudy horrible day here in Wellingborough, hope its better where you are. See you all later as am off to get some lunch now (stomach growling). Take care and enjoy the rest of the day. Annette x

CofC - Double Distress

Hi,

The lovely Linda of StudioL3 gave us page 40 of the Compendium of Curiosities this week, Double Distress. So off we go, embossed on Grunge - fine.... and then it went wrong! Reason: far too heavy handed.... Result: a total mess, so reversed the grunge and did the technique on the leaves instead - Now was this a 'cop out' or being resourceful? Either way a lesson learn't.......Yep most definitely an adventure into this amazing book. Distress Inks used were Worn Lipstick and Dusty Concord.

Also will enter it into Simon Says Stamp - Distress Inks

The picture on the right is my entry for the Gingersnaps Challenge GC80 - Vintage Hues, its a small book cover 3.50 x 3.50 which has a little bit of decoupage on it and some Fimo mouldings plus Distress Inks, so it could go in for Simon Says as well, couldn't it!

Studio L3, Simon Says Stamp and Gingersnaps are terrific places to visit as the craftings are just amazing and full of inspiration, so if you get the chance they are well worth a visit.

Thank you for popping by and for your great support and kindness. Have got to start clearing out my kitchen ready for a new one to be fitted starting on Monday.......or shall I get on with some Christmas stuff.......yea......forget the kitchen can always do it at the weekend..... Take care, Annette x

Art, Heart and Self Healing - Part 1

Hi,

Now this is a whopper............A4 size (twice) of Part 1 of Art, Heart and Self Healing which is a free journal course, which is totally amazing and am loving every minute of it. Although I must admit to be totally freaked when I saw those huge blank pages and on second thoughts I should have used something a lot smaller. Now I know its not perfect but neither am I. Why Green hair you say, well when I was a lot younger I dyed my hair for the first time and yes it went Green.......lol The theory of Part 1 is that you get rid of all your negative thoughts and think positive (left side of the page). After seeing this picture it looks quite dark against the black background of my blog, maybe better if you enlarge it.........only don't look too hard......lol

If you are considering starting a journal I cannot recommend this course enough (see side bar for info) I had started a private art journal but this course has already taught me so much that I can incorporate the techniques I've learn't into that, so am one very happy lady.

Thank you for popping in and for your terrific support which I value greatly and thank you to all you terrific bloggers who continue to inspire me.

Am going to enter this in Simon Says Stamp & Show Whatever Makes you Happy, because this really has made me very happy.

Better get dressed as still in PJs and am due out in 30mins.......oops. Take care, Annette x

Simon Says Shows Us Your Favourite Tim Holtz Stamp!

Hi
I had to make two male cards this week and it is not my top hole favourite thing to do, mainly because I am so bad at it. I know my limitations honestly.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge this week is show us your favourite Tim Holtz Stamp, well unlike a lot of other crafters I only possess two and both are minis, so what sort of crafter does that make me............rubbish........lol

Both cards use the Car stamp, one with a Tim Holtz Cutting Die and both with his embossing folders and of course his Distress Inks. Oops nearly forgot, the easel type card has a calendar on it but not clearly visible in the photo. Anyway I am entering these cards if only to make the other challengers items look fab, and they are, as have just been over to look at them. So if you want to see some great Tim Holtz stamps and wonderful creations pop over to Simon Says.

I am truly having a bad creative week, have been struggling with the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge this week - you have never seen such rubbish as my attempts at this - and then I found out what I was doing wrong. I will tell you all about it when I post it, you are just not going to believe how a person can be so dumb.

Thank you for popping in and supporting me, hope your week is going good, Annette x

Lets Ink It Up - Challenge 4

Hi,
Congratulations to all the winners of Challenge 3, Marianne, Valerie Jael, Joan and Kevin. Plus thank you for all your wonderful entries, they were just brilliant.

Challenge 4 is either a Halloween Project or Use Halloween Colours, sorry no digis allowed. We are being sponsored by Bizzy Becs Online Store with a prize goodie package valued at $15, how brill is that.........how can you not have a go at this with such a great prize.
The Design Team have come up with some wonderful examples and all so different.

Mine is a Wall Hanging which is called 'Spooksville', backed on corregated card which has been painted black with Paint Dabber, the centrepiece was created with a background stamp and then using another stamp I stamped on tissue and pasted it on top, distress inked then painted on pearl Glimmer Mist. The witch is another stamp which has been crackled and inked, drew and cut out a hat then paint dabbed and used embroidery silk for the wonderful locks of hair.......lol The white stuff is left over Christmas Decoration and the spiders and bat are plastic cut outs which I sort of borrowed from the grandchildren......

Am entering this into Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Halloween
and The Artistic Stamper - Layers

Thank you for popping by and do hope you give this fun challenge a go.

Take care, Annette x
