Woo Hoo its Paint Party Time Again

Hi, its that time of the week which I love, yes its Paint Party Friday, not only do I get to contribute and get to see some wonderful art I also get wonderful support and advice.  So thank you everyone as its definitely a learning curve with loads of mistakes along the way, as you probably have noticed........lol

This piece in done on canvas, have never worked on a proper canvas sheet before and the acrylic paints behave very differently (well they do for me.........)  so again its another great adventure.  Am so loving Blue and Yellow at the moment, these colours fill me with joy.

This is a canvas block, not sure what the correct name for it is..........and as its  Work in Progress, am just showing a tiny piece of it.

The following are just two little sketches done in my practice journal, yes I have loads of different journals..... these were done between advertisements on the TV whilst looking at the Radio Times and thought I would try and have a go at doing men...............am not going to tell you who they are as they are rubbish drawings.....lol

Am off now to join the Party and to visit all my other blogging friends.  Have a wonderful weekend and hope the weather is lovely and sunny for you.  Take care, Hugs Annette x

PS:  I showed Martin my journal page of him doing the hoovering and he just fell about laughing.  That man has no soul...........................

You are a sneaky thing, making out you can't draw and paint!

I think that once you get used to working on canvas, Netty, you will love it. Men are tricky to do-you may remember the composer series I'm working on. Love the color theme you used on your painting.

Valerie-Jael said...

Lovely work again Netty, love the tender colours, too. So, you are now into doing men - really! But on the other hand, I think we have reached an age where we can do what we like! Hugs, Valerie

the first one is my fave and it reminds me a bit of gustav klimt (the way the hair flows and the swirls on the upper right). the colors somehow look like it would be a sort of "photo-negative", but i really love this choice of colors!! and the stars are the icing on the cake!!!

Your work is going from strength to strength Annette. Love the blue and yellow combo and you're right it is joyful.

Recognise Monsieur Poirot but not the second laddy.

Keep astounding us with your creativity.

That's not fair Annette. You were on of the first in line for talent. You can draw as well as paint and create all kinds of projects. You've heard the saying "I stamp because I can't draw." I think that statement was written for me.

Love your canvas pieces.

Kat Sloma said...

I love the blue and yellow too! Yes, I've found the paper to be different vs. canvas. I like canvas, you can get it wet! Happy PPF.

These look fabulous.. I think you are way to hard on yourself.. And your sketches are amazing.. I don't think I could even draw a stick man.. Hee Hee..
I just had to smile when you said Martin Laughed at your work.. My hubby does that all the time.. I think my hubby just doesn't get it..

Hugs, Linda

Very cool painted canvases, Nettie. I love the blue and yellow together, too. I also love the pink and blue canvas. Looks like you've got some texture going on in the background of that one. Very neat. Your sketches are good. I applaud your efforts in becoming more and more "artistic" with your painting and sketching! <3 Candy

These are not rubbish portraits. I recognized Poirot right away and I see the other man is someone I don't even know, or I'm sure I would have recognized him, too. I don't watch much TV, that's why. :)
