Hi, its that time of the week which I love, yes its Paint Party Friday, not only do I get to contribute and get to see some wonderful art I also get wonderful support and advice. So thank you everyone as its definitely a learning curve with loads of mistakes along the way, as you probably have noticed........lol
This piece in done on canvas, have never worked on a proper canvas sheet before and the acrylic paints behave very differently (well they do for me.........) so again its another great adventure. Am so loving Blue and Yellow at the moment, these colours fill me with joy.
This is a canvas block, not sure what the correct name for it is..........and as its Work in Progress, am just showing a tiny piece of it.
The following are just two little sketches done in my practice journal, yes I have loads of different journals..... these were done between advertisements on the TV whilst looking at the Radio Times and thought I would try and have a go at doing men...............am not going to tell you who they are as they are rubbish drawings.....lol
Am off now to join the Party and to visit all my other blogging friends. Have a wonderful weekend and hope the weather is lovely and sunny for you. Take care, Hugs Annette x
PS: I showed Martin my journal page of him doing the hoovering and he just fell about laughing. That man has no soul...........................

You are a sneaky thing, making out you can't draw and paint!
You are turning out some gorgeous work Nettie. I particularly like the blue and yellow. And that's Monsieur Poirot, not sure about the other one.
Have a great weekend.Hugs xx

oh i love the blue and yellow too!!!! so happy and cheerful! What a grogeous painting. Happy ppf!
I agree with June Annette, fabulous painting and the blue and yellow is very summery. Definitely Poirot but can't recognise the other one.
Have a great weekend yourself.
luv and hugs {brenda} xoxox
I think that once you get used to working on canvas, Netty, you will love it. Men are tricky to do-you may remember the composer series I'm working on. Love the color theme you used on your painting.
Lovely work again Netty, love the tender colours, too. So, you are now into doing men - really! But on the other hand, I think we have reached an age where we can do what we like! Hugs, Valerie
the first one is my fave and it reminds me a bit of gustav klimt (the way the hair flows and the swirls on the upper right). the colors somehow look like it would be a sort of "photo-negative", but i really love this choice of colors!! and the stars are the icing on the cake!!!
More fab pieces for Paint Party Friday!
Love your painting. The yellow and blue are so vibrant and cheerful.
Marilyn
Great paintings and drawings. Love the first painting, the colours are beautiful!
Blue and yellow are my favs too. Very nice. I have a stack of wood pieces that I have been wanting to paint on. You have inspired me to try.
These all look great! Your first drawing of a men reminds me of Poirot. :)
Love the blue and yellow piece...bright and cheerful :-)
Your work is going from strength to strength Annette. Love the blue and yellow combo and you're right it is joyful.
Recognise Monsieur Poirot but not the second laddy.
Keep astounding us with your creativity.

Great pieces! I see Hercule Poirot in the first man, hard to tell with the frown on the second. Well done man sketches!
I think your work is great. The blues and yellows are great colors for this time of season. Happy PPF!
Great work Netty!
The blue and yellow is amazing:)
You're so talented.
Hugs, Heidi:)
Why Netty, your men's sketches are not rubbish!! The blue and yellow is very refreshing. As always I love stopping by to see what you have been up to! Happy PPF! Hugs xo
These are all beautiful Annette, especially the first one, I love the blue and yellow and the flowers in her hair. Your sketches of men were very good too, the eyes of the men look as if they are looking right through me! ~Diane
When I saw the second guy I immediately thought "Harrison Ford".
I love the first painting a lot, the blue and yellow one - this is so beautiful and somehow happy. Great work. I do see that you love these two colors.
I love your sketches!!!
My favorite is the first lady in yellow, wow!!!
Your paintings ROCK, Netty! I'm also a big fan of the blue and yellow combo. I love the textures, too. And your sketches are fantastic! I can NOT draw men at all. Applause for your awesome skill in that! :)
Wow, you have been very busy! I also like the contrast of the yellow and blue! Happy PPF!
Wow Netty!! These are all fabulous! My favorite is the blue haired woman..she is super-gorgeous..spiritual and has such a presence to her! I would love to hang out with her!

Lovely work - I continue to be amazed at everyone's talent!
To me the second drawing looks like Gordon Ramsey from Hell's Kitchen! :) though I kinda see the Harrison Ford angle too.
Thanks for sharing your sketches!
Woww these are really beautiful creations dear!!
Hope you will have a great weekend!
Hugs Kristel
Oh wow never thought anyone would guess it was Gordon Ramsey....lol, brilliant. Its all those frown lines, too much time spent being horrible to people......serve him right..... am so thrilled you recognised him.......thank you so much. Annette x

Oh Netty, these paintings are delicious and I love your drawings as well! I hope you have a fab time at the paint party and thanks for sharing your exciting new works! Lovely! :0) x
I like yellow and blue too - looks good.
That's not fair Annette. You were on of the first in line for talent. You can draw as well as paint and create all kinds of projects. You've heard the saying "I stamp because I can't draw." I think that statement was written for me.
Love your canvas pieces.
I love the blue and yellow too! Yes, I've found the paper to be different vs. canvas. I like canvas, you can get it wet! Happy PPF.
Wow your drawing and painting is really coming on.
Loving your stamping stuff and colours too xxxx
These look fabulous.. I think you are way to hard on yourself.. And your sketches are amazing.. I don't think I could even draw a stick man.. Hee Hee..
I just had to smile when you said Martin Laughed at your work.. My hubby does that all the time.. I think my hubby just doesn't get it..
Hugs, Linda
Gordon Ramsay and Hercules Poirot of course....its so easy to tell because you have captured them well (especially gordo's wrinkles hehe!)
Ooooh and I LOVE your first panting with the blue and yellow.....really lovely retro feel going on. my fave! The girl looks so fresh and vibrant too. Looking forward to seeing how your work in progress end up.
Happy PPF! x
Beautiful creations, I really love the vivid colors.
Wow Netty, you have been busy, i love the blue and yellow painting and the next one looks to be coming along beautifully too. I guessed right with the drawings too but wasnt sure if it was gordon ramsay or Patrick Swayzee in the second one,now i know though :) excellent drawings
hugs June xxxx
Very cool painted canvases, Nettie. I love the blue and yellow together, too. I also love the pink and blue canvas. Looks like you've got some texture going on in the background of that one. Very neat. Your sketches are good. I applaud your efforts in becoming more and more "artistic" with your painting and sketching! <3 Candy
I would definitely classify you as an artist! Keep having fun!
Great paintings and drawings Annette. Its Mr. Poirot.
Have a great weekend.

the blue and yellow is very happy. Nice portraits, all.
The first girl with flowers in her hair, I love. Greetings
Love the blue and yellow peice, was a minute before I realized even her lips are blue, but they don't look odd. haven't a clue who the guys are but I think we are in different countries so doesn't make any difference any way. They are well done, just need a big more practice, that's all. Happy PPF
You're a fantastic artist Netty! I love all of these -- and think your male sketches are very good!
Just adore your paintings! Each week another beauty. I especially love your female figures, the faces are always so serene. have a nice weekend. gerri

oh Annette!!!! these are beautiful pieces....wonderful work and I love the colours in the paintings!!!
Happy PPF!!!
These are not rubbish portraits. I recognized Poirot right away and I see the other man is someone I don't even know, or I'm sure I would have recognized him, too. I don't watch much TV, that's why. :)
Cool experimenting on different surfaces. It´s true that mediums work differently, that´s why I take notes every week.
All are amazing works. Love the texture on your canvas painting!
Beautiful paintings! Great job. I think your drawings look good, too! Definitely could tell who they are and it seems others can too!
Stunning work as usual Annette,I love the colours on your first painting and your sketches are superb,I knew Poirot straight away.xxx
