Happy Monday.........Effie is back with the Gothic Arches challenge and this time its ' Flown the Nest '.
This Arch is not strictly Gothic shaped so hope its acceptable. Here is the little person after she was released.....
and here she is before.................aaaahhhhh
Stamps and products used: Art Journey, Paper Artsy. Distress Inks and Flowersoft..........the Cage was taken from a bag of cheeses which rather amused me, but then am easily amused..............
Hope you will keep a look out for the Gothic Arches and even better make one yourself......just click the title and it will take you to the challenge blog.
Have a great day.........the sun is out but the winds are very gusty.......so hold onto your hats. Thanks for popping in and take care of yourselves. Hugs Annette x

GOTHIC ARCHES - 'TEXT' AND THE THREE MUSES - 'HATS'

Hi,
Have just started my first Art Journal and really not sure what I am doing at the moment so its all trial and error, but am thoroughly enjoying it as its so relaxing. So am putting this page into the Three Muses challenge - Hats.......
The second piece is the front cover of a small book which is going to a blogging friend for her birthday and I think it will amuse her........well I hope so........ and hope this will be OK for the Gothic Arches challenge - Text.
Both of these challenges are just for fun. But there is such a variety of artwork contributed and all terrific pieces by some wonderful creators. Hope you get the time to visit both these blogs (shown on my sidebar) and have a go yourself.
Well its all exciting here as the cards and packages are piling up from some terrific blogging friends, just cannot believe how kind you all are. Tomorrow I am 65 so hopefully I will have reached the age of maturity................the body has, but the mind........heaven only knows what age that is..........lol
Thank you for supporting me and all my adventures into craft and wish you all a very happy weekend. Will be catching up with your blogs tonight after Strictly Come Dancing and Merlin......Take care, Annette x

GOTHIC ARCHES - JESTER

Hi
I had just the most fun time making this digi picture for the Gothic Arches Challenge - Jester..... from my freebie digi programme which is very basic...
Mine is called 'Jest A Minute'..........corny I know.......... The background for this was part of a freebie from Cemerony the other I googled........... easy peasy....... if only all my work was as easy as this......... it made such a welcome break from my Homework at Art Class which am struggling with (a watercolour painting of a forest with flowers); you would think after four attempts I would give up.......but no I carry on just hoping one will turn out OK for Wednesday's Class.
Thank you for popping by and for all your great support. Take care and have a fun week, Annette x

Gothic Arches - Day and Night

Hi,
The Gothic Arches Challenge this week is Day and Night, I wonder how many of us that are entering into this challenge turned it around to Night and Day and started singing the song....... ohhhh, OK just me then..........aaah well.......lol
I had another go with my freebie programme (very basic) to produce this picture as I don't have any suitable stamps. Already the Gothic Arches Blog has some gorgeous entries so pop over and have a look if you have the time.
Thanks for popping by and supporting me, have a lovely evening and take care, Annette x

MATCHBOX GOTHIC ARCH

Hi,
Today I am combining two challenges:
GC69 - Ancient Ages and
Matchbox Gothic Arch
Well, this certainly been a lot of fun to make, plus a bit of bad language........as never made a matchbox one before so didn't have a clue on where to start.......anyway after a struggle I completed it.......yahhhhhhhh........the frame was cut from a Tim Holtz embossing folder and stazon swiped, black paint dabber, silver enamel paint and gold metallic cream. For the box I lined the inners with some left over folder after I had painted the centre part with texture paint, silver enamel and gold metallic creamed it. Attached some beads on a wire so the box can be pulled out of its frame. Then a mold I had already made from clay was popped in the centre.
When I get the time shall definitely make some more now have got the hang of it.....
Thank you for popping by and for your wonderful support which spurs me on and hopefully to improve. Take care, Annette x

GOTHIC ARCHES - DAISIES

Hi,
This is my second attempt at Gothic Arches, this week the theme is Daisies.
The backing paper was created with Wallpaper Paste Paint and then various stamps used. If you have never tried wallpaper paste painting its worth having a go, its such fun.
The Gothic Arches that have already been created by some very talented artists are brilliant, so pop over and have a look you will be amazed.
The Sun is shining here......bliss..... but still quite windy and the forecast looks good for the week...Hooray.
Thank you for popping in and have a smashing Bank Holiday Monday. Annette x

GOTHIC ARCH - BACK TO SCHOOL

Hi,
My first Gothic Arch, thank you Yvonne for directing me to the pattern for arches. The challenge is 'Back to School'.
Stamps used Paper Artsy and Debbi Moore. The Apple was drawn by me......I know it looks more like a tomato but am still learning...........lol Went a bit over the top with Crackle Accents, once started using it I got a bit carried away. T Holtz distress inks used.
I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and hope to do some more. Thank you for popping in and for your support and encouragement. Have a good day, Annette x
