The Three Muses and Less is More Challenges

Hi, today I am entering two separate challenges.  First the Three Muses;  the subject Indybev chose is Doorways, mine is a Portal where the famous Frida can be seen.  Later on I shall hang black beads from the bottom and turn it into a hanging, but at the moment I haven't got the bead fringe I need, sob sob......

and secondly this card is for the Less is More Challenge, where Mandi and Chrissie are trying to get one thousand entries.  Goodness knows how the girls are going to comment on this amount of CAS cards....phew, they are obviously made of stern stuff................

Hope you are all having a good week.  Today I bought my euros ready for our holiday in Portugal which is in a couple of weeks and am looking forward to this very much.   Thank you for popping in and take care of yourselves.  Hugs Annette x

ALTERED PAPERBACK - The Three Muses

Hi, am so getting blog withdrawals, is it an addiction do you think?

Hope you all had a great Christmas and lots of lovely presents. I had very few crafting type presents but had everything I wanted so was pleased as punch. Lots of pads of Watercolour Paper..... and two books: Taking Flight (inspiration techniques) and Artists Journals & Sketchbooks, both fabulous books. Yesterday went to LB Crafts to their 50% off sale, yep 50% how brill is that and got some great advice from the talented Lin and of course the lovely Karen was there, they are such a great team.

My Altered Book is made from a Mills & Boon paperback. Covered the front and back covers from squares cut out from book and stamped over them. All stamps are by BLine. Other products used are: Texture Paste, Eco Friendly Acrylic Paint, Modge Podge, Multi Matte Medium, The Ultimate Glue, Copper embossing powder and Inca Gold. The centre picture is from Crafty Individuals. After gluing the book together I painted all the edges of the paper, modge podged them and then rubbed in Inca Gold.

Have never altered a Paperback before and can tell you its much easier than the childrens hardback ones. I hope you like it as I am quite proud of my first attempt, but not sure whether to turn it into a hanging as its quite lightweight..........mmm will have to think about that. Just in case you wondered why I didn't put any flowers on it.........simples........they get too dusty.... lol

Am putting the Altered Book into The Three Muses - Books, such a brilliant blog with such wonderful creative people.

Will be back later to blog hop and see all that I've missed. Have a terrific day and take care, Hugs Annette x

GOTHIC ARCHES - 'TEXT' AND THE THREE MUSES - 'HATS'

Hi,

Have just started my first Art Journal and really not sure what I am doing at the moment so its all trial and error, but am thoroughly enjoying it as its so relaxing. So am putting this page into the Three Muses challenge - Hats.......

The second piece is the front cover of a small book which is going to a blogging friend for her birthday and I think it will amuse her........well I hope so........ and hope this will be OK for the Gothic Arches challenge - Text.

Both of these challenges are just for fun. But there is such a variety of artwork contributed and all terrific pieces by some wonderful creators. Hope you get the time to visit both these blogs (shown on my sidebar) and have a go yourself.

Well its all exciting here as the cards and packages are piling up from some terrific blogging friends, just cannot believe how kind you all are. Tomorrow I am 65 so hopefully I will have reached the age of maturity................the body has, but the mind........heaven only knows what age that is..........lol

Thank you for supporting me and all my adventures into craft and wish you all a very happy weekend. Will be catching up with your blogs tonight after Strictly Come Dancing and Merlin......Take care, Annette x

COFC No: 18 plus THE THREE MUSES

Hi,
Compendium of Curiosities this week is Dabber Resist (page 37) which the lovely Linda of StudioL3 has asked us to do. I have to admit I had a few problems with this, in that choosing the right stamp is the key to a good result, needless to say it took me three attempts to get there, blooming typical...........lol

'A Perfect Day' is recycled card from a paper tissue box and as the back was so pretty I just stamped on that. Have included a picture of the back just in case you wanted to see.

The next one is an ATC for the Three Muses Challenge - Wings, which really needs no explanation as you can clearly see the various bits I used to produce The Sunset Diva....

Lastly am sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days visiting everyone but have been working on loads of homework for my Art Class and at last there has been a breakthrough... Hooray.....

Thankyou for popping by and for your great support and if you get the chance to pop over to Linda at StudioL3 and The Three Muses you will see some fantastic work.

Take care and have a happy week, Annette x

THE THREE MUSES - Say It With Music

Hi,

Have made an ATC for the Three Muses Challenge - Say It With Music.

The background is a scrap from my Acrylic Splodgings, stamps are from The Artistic Stamper and TJ Designs using Stazon Inks and edged with Black Paint Dabber.

Hope this fits the bill. If you get the chance, look out for some great interpretations created by some fab artists, especially the digital art, that is out of this world.

Thank you for popping by and for your great support. Have a terrific weekend, the weather forecast looks brilliant. Take care, Annette x

The Three Muses - Mail Art

Hi,

Just had to watch Midsummer Murders before I put this on my blog........ooh it was thrilling, just love that programme.

I am really inspired by the wonderful creative artists who have submitted their Mail Art to The Three Muses, oh wow you have to see them. This is my first attempt at making one of these. I made my own envelope as the pack of ones I use for letters were not of the best quality. The Ladies were cut out from wrapping paper and gessoed. The background I watercoloured and lightly gessoed over it, then I stamped some scrolls leaving room for the address and a stamp.
Had just the greatest fun making it and long to make some more.

Thank you for popping in and for all your wonderful support and encouragement, and thank you Astrid for your great advice.
Take care, Annette x

THE THREE MUSES - NUMBERS

Hi,

I made this with my freebie photo programme, only my second attempt with the programme so have a long way to go. The picture was a freebie from the lovely June at Dezina World, thank you June....

When I saw this young lady's expression it amused me, and reminded me of all the practising one has to do when playing a musical instrument, so hence playing to the beat 1 2 3 and 1 2 3. Am putting this into the Three Muses Challenge - Numbers

I'm off to Art Class this morning, hope todays is a lot easier than last Wednesday as I really made a total mess of that one. Oh well you just have to keep trying don't you!!

Have a great day and thank you for popping by, Annette x

THREE MUSES - Back to Nature

Hi, hope you have all been enjoying the sunshine.

I made this ATC for Cindy and its winging its way over the Atlantic to her as we speak........

There are some out of this world Back to Nature projects over at the Three Muses so please keep your eye open for them, they are brilliant.

Am also entering this for Fun with ATCs - Wings another great blog worth looking at, again some great creations http://funwithatcs.blogspot.com/

Being a self confessed Stampaholic the ATC is stamped and inked, with a touch of Glimmer Mist on the moon to hopefully make it glow.
Stamps used: Crafty Individuals, Lavinia Stamps and PaperArtsy. Distress Inks - Tim Holtz

Hope Cindy likes it and you do as well; think I must be going through a pretty phase at the moment.
Thank you for popping by and leaving comments, I really love receiving them like we all do. Take care, Annette x

THREE MUSES - ZETTI

Hi,

This has taken me a long time to get this challenge and I so wanted to complete on time. I have a bit of a medical problem at the mo, but its all being taken care of thank goodness and hopefully my stamina will soon return as I love crafting like the rest of you wonderful bloggers.

Anyway enough of that and onto my Zetti offering. 'Been There Done That!' (this is what the bird is saying). My Zetti is made up from a Tim Holtz embossing folder which has had various metallics rubbed in, then stazon swiped. The stamps are a combination of a Zetti stamp, PaperArtsy, T J Designs and Crafty Individuals. Some bits have been glossed and Distress Stickled plus inked and chalked. Hope it amuses you as again I have had a lot of fun with it. There are some wonderful creations at the Three Muses so keep your eye open for them.

Thank you for popping and supporting me. Have a lovely day and a terrific Bank Holiday weekend. Annette x
