One of those Moments..............

Hi, at the moment there are quite a few challenges around on creating your own backgrounds........which got me thinking and I had one of those moments when everything fell into place - this doesn't  happen very often...........................

I used up a couple of scrap pieces to create this card.  For the background I used a piece of diecut cardstock and then stamped it with acrylic paint (Aqua) then used distress inks, layered it twice onto the orange cardstock.  Fussy cut the ladies and stamped the words.

Products used:  RLB cardstock, wrapping paper from Past Times (ladies), Paint Dabber, Distress Inks.
Stamps by:  BL Designs and Scrolls Work Stamps.

Thought the effect was quite nice and it was so much fun playing around. Am entering this card into the Rogue Redhead Designs challenge - use a Stamped Background.

Hope you are all having a fun and a creative week.  Take care of yourselves, Hugs Annette x

Wonderful You.....

Hi, haven't  been around much in the day as have been working on some future DT pieces which I hope you will like, plus some more hospital appointments.

This card I created using the Just Sayin' and Floriculture plate by Rogue Redhead Designs and the sentiment is by Scrolls Work Stamps, with a little acrylic painting thrown in.

If you tap the picture with your cursor it shows up much clearer and larger.

Hope you are all having a great week and having fun with your craftings.  Thank you very much for your support and taking the time to visit me.  Take care, hugs Annette x

Would also like to enter this card into Snazzy's Love/Romance Challenge.......http://snazzysdesignteamblog.blogspot.com/

Paint Party Friday and Dragons Dream Tag it On

Hi, its Friday.....so that means Paint Party........yeaaaaa...........  I have nearly completed Picasso's  'Girl with a Dove', just a bit of touching up here and there to do and then its ready for my Art Tutor on Wednesday.  Will have to work on The Harvester over the weekend and try and get that finished as well.............fingers crossed.

There are loads of fabulous artists at the Paint Party and its always such a joy to see their wonderful work.

At long last I have been able to join in with one of the challenges at Dragons Dream Tag it On.  This week its Seaside.  There are some fab examples from the DT.  This tag has been painted with acrylics and texture paste, perfect pearls, Stickles and added some Shells.  The stamps are by Scrolls Work and Crafty Individuals; stamped with Archival ink and Big and Juicy.  The tag will be going on my Mother's birthday present next week along with this Pyramid Card which uses all Crafty Individual Stamps.  Just hope she likes them.   Mum is 86 on Wednesday and a beautiful jewellery maker and designer, yep I am a very proud daughter.

Thank you for visiting me and have a lovely weekend, take care, Hugs Annette x

DEMO - Acrylic Squishings for Backgrounds

Hi, this is my last week for Scrollswork.........aaaaahhhh., now part of the deal with being a GD is to give a Demo.  I chose to do Acrylic Squishings, as many of you over the last 6 months have shown an interest as to how it was done.  Beware its a long long post............lol

Items you need

Acrylic Paints, Craft Mat or Plastic Sheet, the Cheapest Photographic Paper as it slides better than the expensive kind and a Water Mister.  Now choose your colours and off we go..............
Here are some examples of how you can apply your paint to the Craft Mat, each will give different results.

Don't forget to spray quite a bit of water otherwise the photo paper will stick, and you end up with a
nasty mess..............   You can either drag your paper or just press down, either way your colours will perform differently.

The most Important thing to remember is to let it dry Naturally.  This is the Cool bit, as it dries the Acrylics start to Crack and Separate, for me this is the best bit as you never know whats going to happen.  So be patient and the Magic will begin.  Below are some samples of what you can expect to happen.  Had great difficulty choosing as wanted to show you them all..........lol

So have fun, thats the main thing and experiment.

You can do this technique or plain paper on card, say for your journal pages, tags or card making, but the colours do not separate quite as well, but still gives some great effects
The above paints were given to me by my dear friend Andrea of Smudgemastic for my birthday last year.

Hope haven't bored you to death, but its my last day as GD for Scrollswork so was determined I would go out with a blast...............lol
Have a great day and please let me know if you try this technique as would love to see, and if there is anything you would like to ask just email me and will be happy to answer you.  So its a tearful farewell and a big thank you for Jacque for letting me be her Guest Designer for the month.  Hugs Annette x

ALTERED CHILDRENS BOOK - Scrolls Work

Hi, this is my second week for Scrolls Work and am loving their stamps.  Don't forget the Sale starts soon, you definitely don't want to miss out.

I hadn't altered a Childrens Book for ages, whereas  my last one was all bright and cheerful, this one is the complete opposite...........
Products used.......all Scrolls Work stamps (of course...lol), Texture and Acrylic Paint, Gesso, Copper Embossing, Clear Embossing and Metallic Cream.  The bird was cut out and coloured from their Business Card......

Just so you know which childrens book was altered, have enclosed a picture below.

As the pictures have come out quite small and if you want a clearer look please enlarge them.
Hoping you enjoy the transformation.

We are off to Northampton today, but will catch up with you all very soon.  Wishing you Sunshine and a Happy Day.  Take care, Hugs Annette x

Journal Page - Scrolls Work

Hi, if you read my post below you will know I am very lucky to have been chosen to be a Guest Designer of Scrolls Work for the month of May. The lovely owner of Scrolls Work Jacque Heaton, sent me a load of stamps to play with and see what I could come up with, thank you Jacque.

This week am showing  a Journal Page I made using all SW stamps, Acrylic Paints, Gold and Red Paint Dabbers, String and Tissue.  I do so love that boy stamp, such a great expression.

In the next three weeks I shall show an Altered Childrens Book,  some Tags and a Demonstration on Squishing Acrylics - Huge Fun so hope you will join me.

On a personal level I am totally worn out from 4 days of sightseeing, tried to work it out last night as to how many miles we had walked; at a rough guess 30 miles........no wonder my poor little legs ache.  Martin said think how healthy you will be...........grrrrrrrrrrrr     Am staying in today, am NOT going anywhere.........lol  Hope you all have a lovely day, take care, Hugs Annette x
