A Holiday Romance and Going Cubist for Happy Daze

We all love to read a good holiday romance and this is no exception.

Stick and Stickette met on holiday in Portsmouth and it was love at first sight.......aaaaaaahhhhh.
One evening on the way home after a gorgeous meal down at the Wharf,  Stick proposed to her......and of course she said yes.

No date for the wedding has been set yet, but in anticipation I have made this label for their honeymoon luggage as am sure they will need one, don't you ?

Formula for the tag is a brayered background, Chicken wire screen, acrylic paint, distress inks, Stickles and the stamps are Inkadinkado plus Two Sticks by Stampotique.

CUBIST SILHOUETTES

Plus I snuck in a sneaky one mainly because I adore the colors.  Bought this stamp by Lost Coast Design quite a while ago from HD,  but had only stamped her in Sepia.  Stamping her various colors gave her a new lease of life.  Hope you like her like this.

Looking forward to seeing your take on this months theme over at Happy Daze.  Take care of yourselves and will see you soon, Annette x

Curly and Wurly Strut their stuff down on the Farm!!!

Hi, Gingersnaps Challenge this month  is 'On The Farm' and the focus this week is on Seeds and Beads.  To see what the rest of the DT have come up with visit Gingersnap Creations (see my sidebar)

I mean't to buy a Scarecrow stamp ages ago, but never got around to it, but I did have a Rooster stamp by Inkadinkado.  So my DT piece is a mixture of drawing, painting and stamping.  Plus micra beads and sesame seeds.

'' Curly and Wurly are identical twin Roosters who love to strut their stuff all over the Farm much to the amusement of Sally Scarecrow................. ''

Hope you will join with us in this fun challenge as their is a great prize kindly donated from Rogue Redhead Designs.  Wishing you a very happy week with lots of crafting fun.  Take care, Hugs Annette xx

Red and Gold at Gingersnaps

Hi, at Gingersnaps we are continuing the Asian theme, but this time with 'Red and Gold', a glorious combination.  I have chosen for my DT piece something really simple, an altered label.
Ha, you say whats altered about this................well I will show you...............
These are the products I used and what I started with.  An ordinary brownish Luggage Label and a Topper. First cut out the topper then using the red acrylic paint coloured it to fit the challenge.  Using the same red acrylic, paint the label.  Once dry, stamp the flowers randomly using gold paint dabber and stamp the word Hope in Archival Ink.  So there it is a simple Altered Luggage Label.  No fancy tricks or techniques, just plain and simple.
There are some wonderful examples from the DT at Gingersnaps if you get stuck for ideas.  Hope you will join in this fabulous colour challenge.  As usual make whatever you fancy using the colours Red and Gold.  The main thing is that you have fun.  Take care and will be around to visit you all after I have spent the day at LB Crafts for my first workshop, so exciting..............  Hugs Annette x

Turning Dezina Upside down and a couple of quick cards

Hi,

Have had this image as a freebie from the lovely June of Dezina World for quite a while now and just had to have a play with it last night. Hope you don't mind June as I turned it upside down which gave the beautiful girl a whole new look............. It probably should be called 'Shoe Envy'..........lol

Am also sharing a couple of fairly quickly made Birthday Cards and their Envelopes (stamped and stencilled directly onto the card)

Hope you like this mixed post and are enjoying your day. Take care, hugs Annette x

A Card from the Heart and the Queen of Cats Tag

Hi, hope you all have had a great day. We went to Carlton Village and visited Emmaus, this is a very special community which helps people to move on from homelessness, providing work and a home in a supportive family environment and enables people to develop skills and rebuild their self respect. This wonderful place is all about recycling in many ways, plus they have a terrific Bistro and out of this world yummy cakes including their famous Pavlova......you have to see this to believe it........needless to say I bought a couple of things from their shops, a reference book and a wonderful wooden thingy that was crying out to be altered, but what into, not sure yet, am just enjoying touching it at the moment, sad person that I am.........lol

Anyways enough of my ramblings. I made this card and tag, just because I love the stamps and have been longing to use them. The tag is going to a dear friend of mine who adores her cat and the card hasn't a home yet. I used a Prima Flower Mask for the background of the card, Antique Linen Distress Ink and a Promarker for the little bit of colouring in. Stamps by Papermania and Inkadinkado. Just noticed The Stampman challenge this week is Floral, not sure if this really fits the bill as its not covered in flowers apart from the background and the word Flower.........mmmmm we will see. The Tag has been brushed with Distress Inks and Flowersoft added; Stamp by Andrea Jayne for Docrafts - such a great cat stamp.
Ooh just seen the Blog One Stop Craft Challenge are doing Clean and Simple so will try the card their as well, brill.

Hope you like these as I enjoyed making them. Take care and have a great weekend, Annette x

DAY 3 OF 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Brillioso I have something at long last the Tim Holtz Die Cut Bird..........wheeeeeeeee, but after that its improvise all the way......... Am still trying to get through the 12 days using recycled products and so far so good.

Tag and Bird cut from left over thick Watercolour paper, the Moss is Flowersoft dyed with Alcohol Inks. Sparkly Organza Ribbon off a present and an ear-ring fragment for the centre of the flower. Stamped script over scraps of tissue for the flower, very old glitter instead of tinsel. Ooh and nearly forgot the little picture on the side was once on a Christmas Gift.

Stamps used: PaperArtsy, Inkadinkado, TJ Designs and Debbi Moore. Apart from the improvisations I have followed Tim Holtz technique for this tag......yea......

Artyjen.blogspot is running a fun gallery for anyone who wants to add their tags to it. There are some really great interpretations over there, well worth a visit if you get the time.

I still cannot get into the kitchen because now the sealing they have put on the floor has to dry and my cooker is up in the air on its side............and will be that way until Monday afternoon when they put the new floor in...... aah well, not long to wait now.

Be seeing you again soon I hope. Am now off to visit all my crafty friends blogs and have a nosey round.....ooh we do love doing that don't we...............lol Take care and stay warm, and thank you for sticking with me........ Annette x

LETS INK IT UP CHALLENGE 3

Firstly, Congratulations to all the winners of Challenge 2 and wow there were some fab Tags and Bookmarks entered. On behalf of the Design Team just wanted to say thank you for entering some really yummy work.

Challenge 3: Use your Favourite Rubber/Clear Stamp with a twist - add a Charm (No Digis)

The sponsor is Caroline from Carolines Creative Rubber Stamps (see sidebar) and the lucky winner gets a Twenty Pound Voucher for her shop.....how brilliant is that......

The piece I made for the Design Team is going to a dear friend of mine for her birthday. At the moment this is one of my favourite stamps as its so useful, the same stamp has been used for the background and for the making of the flower; the centre has been filled with micro beads. The charm is made from clay (one of my molds). Stamps by Papermania and Inkadinkado. Distress Inks used for the colouring and stamping.

Just as a reminder you can make anything at all you like as long as it has your favourite stamp somewhere on it and a charm of sorts.

Hope you like my Design piece. Wishing you all a very happy weekend whatever you are doing and thank you again for all your great support as without your encouragement I would never have tried for a Design Team. Annette x

COMPENDIUM OF CURIOSITIES - WEEK 11

Hi,

Its another exciting adventure for me as this week the fab Linda of Studio L3 has chosen Page 36 of C of C which is Blended Batik.... sponsored by Eclectic Paperie. I for one had never heard of this technique before, so woo woo I thought, brilliant, lets give it a go. Obviously we are not allowed to disclose the techniques, BUT, I will tell you a domestic appliance I had not picked up in over 6 months had to be used and my husband nearly passed out in shock when he saw me using it..............lol

My Huge Flower (it wasn't mean't to be that big) was made from cardstock and fabric Rose Petals which I inked and stamped, and the Bronze Plate which the bird is perched on is a Bronze Metal Garden Tag which has been embossed and inked with one of Tim Holtz folders.

If you get the chance please visit Linda at Studio L3 and see some brilliant examples of this technique from some great crafters.

I am also entering this tag for Hels Sunday Stampers which by chance is Flowers!!!!

Thank you for popping in and for your wonderful support. I hope you like my tag as it was great fun making it. Annette x

COMPENDIUM OF CURIOSITIES 6 - MULTI MEDIUM COLLAGE

Hi,

For the first time ever since I entered into Linda's challenges I actually had the product....wow, so you can imagine how pleased I was, although had used it in a different way, so again a new way for me......ooh love these challenges. The technique can be found on Page 66 of T Holtz, Compendium of Curiosities (I am really loving this book), for some great creations from very talented crafters using this technique please visit Linda's blog Studio L3

My collage is called 'You're Invited', a little bit quirky but great fun to do.

I used a T Holtz embossing folder and used metal magic and enamel embossing powders on it, plus T Holtz Distressing Inks.

The Stamps used: Joanna Sheen, Inkadinkado and Crafty Individuals, which I clear embossed.
I hope you like it and it brings a small smile to your face.

Thank you for all your good wishes re my little problem, but now have the correct tablets and also booked in for an X Ray, so I will be fit for anything soon............wicked........... Annette x
